So, I realize that this isn't exactly a question about diet, but I am wondering about water recommendations.  In one of the podcasts, it was mentioned that you generally recommend an ounce for each pound of body weight.  So, if I'm 220 pounds (feel free to assume that I am 9 feet tallWink), that would be (220 ounces of water divided by 8 ounce cups is) 27.5  eight-oz. glasses of water a day?  Yikes! 

So… does recommended water consumption top off somewhere?  Just 100 ounces daily would be pushing if for me, but 220?  I don't think I could it!

You guessed right, and i hope i mentioned this in that same podcast… I DO recommend water 1oz per pound of bodyweight UP TO about 1 gallon. most people will find drinking a gallon of water difficult, but its something to work toward!

Starting off by getting in 3L per day is a GREAT place to start!!!

How would you take this amount of water? what should be the timings? like 4 glasses in morning, 1 before every meal etc? what you recommend Blythe?

Further, what exactly is water retention?
